Mariners in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which separates Vancouver Island from Washington state, are being asked to look out for a crew member missing from a container ship.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Coast Guard said it received reports of a missing crew member from the MSC Jasmine X on Friday morning.
According to the coast guard, the crew member was last seen between 8 p.m. and midnight PT the previous day, which was when the vessel was in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The coast guard says a number of coast guard stations and resources have been activated to search for the missing crew member.
"The Coast Guard also issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast to alert other mariners of the ongoing search," the spokesperson said.
"The Coast Guard is asking local mariners to keep a sharp a sharp lookout and report any sightings," they added.
Online marine traffic websites indicate the MSC Jasmine X was on its way to Seattle from Busan, South Korea.
