Charles Milliard, the first and so far only officially declared candidate for the upcoming leadership campaign of the Quebec Liberal Party, received his first endorsement from a member of the party’s caucus on Friday.
“As MNA for D’Arcy McGee, I am proud to support Charles Milliard in the leadership race for the Quebec Liberal Party,” said Elisabeth Prass in a video message posted early Friday on her X account. “We need a leader…who understands the economy and will make responsible choices.
“Charles…understands people, he listens to them, he builds bridges and looks for solutions rather than create divisions.”

Prass’s 46-second video is the first caucus endorsement this round for Milliard, who finished less than five points behind winner Pablo Rodriguez during the first leadership contest.
Milliard announced his candidacy Tuesday.
After weeks of controversy surrounding the party’s leadership selection process, Rodriguez’s decision to resign as leader in December led the Quebec Liberals to announce a second leadership race. Would-be candidates have until Feb. 13 to file their candidacy.
During first leadership campaign, Milliard received endorsements from some Liberal MNAs, including André Fortin, Virginie Dufour, Madwa-Nika Cadet and André A. Morin.
