Toronto police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect after a double stabbing Wednesday at Dufferin subway station.

Officers responded to calls of a stabbing near Bloor Street West and Dufferin Street around 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, said Toronto police in a news release.

They said the suspect approached the first victim at the station and assaulted them with an edged weapon before fleeing.

Police say that moments later, the suspect assaulted a second victim without provocation steps away at Bloor Street West and Pauline Avenue, and then took off.

Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and did not know the suspect beforehand, according to police.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium build and facial hair between five foot six and five foot eight inches tall. He was seen wearing a black winter jacket, black hat, black ripped pants, white shoes with black accents and a black backpack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
