Kamloops RCMP Major Crime Unit are now investigating the 'sudden death' of a man found during a wellness check on Monday, as a possible murder.
Police say frontline officers responded to a residence on Dalgleish Drive in Kamloops' West End, and found the body of Muhammad “Ash” Zafar.
RCMP say based on the evidence gathered to date, the investigators are treating the case as a homicide. They say the death appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit said it is working to establish a timeline of Zafar’s movements and interactions leading up to what investigators describe as a "sudden death."
“We are asking anyone who had recent contact with Mr. Zafar, or who may have information about his social network, activities, or associates, to reach out to investigators,” said Staff Sgt. Kevin McIntyre of the Kamloops RCMP.
“Even small details can assist us in understanding the events leading up to this incident.”
