Ontario provincial police say a man is dead after a collision on Highway 401 in the township of Cramahe, Ont.

In a news release Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian on the eastbound lanes of the highway at approximately 10:40 p.m. Saturday.

The OPP said it was reported that a pedestrian had been struck and a vehicle had been parked close to the median in the westbound lanes.

A 22-year-old man from Chatham, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene, the OPP said.

Provincial police added Highway 401 was closed for investigation between Big Apple Drive and County Road 30, but all lanes reopened as of 5 a.m. Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
