A 19-year-old man has been arrested after police say he tried to pay a Brandon business in drugs instead of a valid method of payment on Tuesday.
Officers were called to a business in the 1100 block of 18th Street in the southwestern Manitoba city at 11:41 a.m. on Dec. 23, after staff reported a man attempted to pay them with drugs, Brandon police said in a news release.
When police arrived, they found the man had a large sum of money, a small amount of drugs and a can of bear spray, according to the release. He was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
Police said an investigation into the drugs continues. The man is set to appear in court in March, police said.
