Joe Rogan doesn’t think Jake Paul should be a boxer anymore.

Rogan talked about how Paul, 28, should think about his long-term health after having his jaw shattered in two places during a sixth-round knockout in a boxing match against ex-heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua that aired on Nextflx this past Friday.

Paul had to have two titanium plates surgically implanted to repair his face post-fight. Broken jaw aside, the fight earned Paul about $92 million.

During the latest episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience,” the podcaster and UFC commentator said there’s a “price that you pay” with boxing and that it is “not worth it.”

“It’s not worth it,” said Rogan, per New York Post. “And that price is depression, deep depression, a severe brain imbalance that’s going to lead you to addiction.”

‘You can only take so much’

Rogan said addiction leads so many people to impulsive behaviour post-fighting career, such as gambling, drugs and alcohol. The podcaster worried Joshua’s KO punch could’ve done some serious damage to Paul.

“You can only take so much,” he said. “…Say if you have a punch card, you have so many punches that you can get in life, which I believe you do.

“I believe there’s a certain number — that one was like 10 punches. That was a lot of concussions in that one punch. That was real damage.”

Rogan said there’s a lot of damage done “inside your f***ing head” once your jaw is broken in two places.

Paul has been boxing since 2020, with several wins against former MMA fighters. Last year, Paul defeated Mike Tyson in another Netflix-streamed bout.

Paul claims he won two rounds against Joshua

Post-fight, Paul claims he won two rounds against Joshua in last Friday’s bout.

Appearing on his brother’s , Paul said he “won two rounds” and Joshua “won two, then I got dropped.”

“But I was doing good, my cardio, just the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring the big people is different than the 10oz gloves so I was feeling his power a lot more,” said Paul, per Sky Sports. “It was a great experience, I learnt a lot in there.”

Paul said he had three more weeks to build muscle in order to “really hit” Joshua. He said his biggest mistake was not doing altitude training.

“I see where I could have done better, so I’m a little disappointed, but I also know how good he is. I had him wobbled at one point, but he had his hands up better this fight,” said Paul.
