Epstein files: These are the Canadians mentioned in the latest document release

On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) released nearly 30,000 pages of documents, including pictures, court records and emails, connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

It follows the initial release of documents Friday and Saturday related to the DOJ's case files about the late convicted sex offender.

Among the documents are the following Canadian connections.

Peter Nygard

One of the files included an April 2020 letter prepared by the DOJ and sent to authorities in the U.K.

The FBI and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York were hoping to secure an interview with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — then Prince Andrew — about possible connections to fashion mogul Peter Nygard.

The letter said evidence existed linking Mountbatten-Windsor to both Nygard and Epstein in two separate sex-trafficking investigations.

It said the former prince had at least once visited Nygard Cay, Nygard's luxury property in the Bahamas, "where Nygard is believed to have trafficked minor and adult female victims."

"U.S. authorities seek to question Prince Andrew regarding his visit(s) to Nygard Cay during the time period under investigation, and other information he may have about Peter Nygard and related individuals," it added.

The former prince was not the target of any investigation at the time and there was no evidence he had committed any crime under U.S. law, the letter noted.

It indicated Mountbatten-Windsor may have been asked to testify in either the Nygard or Epstein case if he shared "relevant information" during any interview.

The U.S. authorities had questions for their U.K. counterparts to ask Mountbatten-Windsor, which included dates he met either Epstein or Nygard, travelled to either man's properties, and women he met through either of them.

Nygard has faced a series of sexual assault allegations in different jurisdictions. In 2023, he was found guilty by a Toronto jury of four counts of sexual assault.

The 'lingerie model actress'

In one of the FBI "intake" records, there are allegations made in Aug. 2, 2020, from an unnamed person who claims they were groomed by two people including a Serbian Canadian "lingerie model actress" in 1996, when they were 19.

The complainant also says their artwork was stolen by the two people, who needed money to pay off a debt.

"In retrospect there was a clear plot taking place," the allegation says.

"They set up an elaborate plan involving a false romance and grooming me to ultimately be approached by Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein several days after all of my artwork disappeared."

Maxwell was accused of helping recruit underage girls for Epstein and was arrested in July 2020 and charged with sex crimes. She was later convicted on five counts, including sex trafficking conspiracy and sex trafficking of a minor, and is currently serving a 20-year sentence.

The aspiring model

In another allegation made to the FBI, dated Aug. 5, 2020, a person says she was introduced to Epstein by "a Canadian woman who at the time was a friend."

The person, who is identified as a jewelry designer, says the meeting took place in New York City around 2004 or 2005 and that the Canadian woman was also friendly with Maxwell.

The allegation says the woman, whose name was redacted, was "an aspiring French Canadian model."

"She would procure young women to meet Jeffrey Epstein. Many women were underage and aspiring models from other countries. She often had a lot of money in cash that she said Jeffrey Epstein gave to her for helping him with 'various things,'" the allegation says.

"She told me 'he helped young beautiful women.' She also mentioned he often liked to get massages."
