It’s been nearly two years since a 42-year-old Scarborough man vanished without a trace.

And as the second anniversary of Taron Stepanyan’s mysterious disappearance approaches, Toronto Police are appealing for help locating the missing man.

“Anniversaries can prompt renewed attention and reflection, and investigators are hopeful that someone may now come forward with information that could assist the investigation,” Supt. LeeAnn Papizewski, of 42 Division, said in a statement released Saturday.

Stepanyan was last seen leaving his residence at 20 Chichester Pl. – northeast of Victoria Park Ave. and Sheppard Ave. E. – on the evening of Dec. 23, 2023.

And Papizewski said investigators “remain concerned for his safety.”

Missing man’s third Christmas away from family

“This will be Taron’s third Christmas away from his family, and police remain committed to finding answers for them,” she said.

Officers spent Saturday in the missing man’s neighbourhood, handing out flyers and speaking to area residents. A command post was also set up nearby as part of the renewed appeal.

Taron Stepanyan, 42, has been missing since he was last seen leaving his residence at 20 Chichester Pl., northeast of Victoria Park Ave. and Sheppard Ave. E. in Scarborough, on the evening of Dec. 23, 2023.

Investigators have also released new images of Stepanyan hoping someone will recognize him and come forward with information that could help locate him.
