Mitchell Rose, 32, has been accused of attempted murder in relation to the attacks.
According to Rose’s family, he has schizophrenia and was in a state of psychosis. They say Rose had not been receiving the help he needed, after he was discharged from a community treatment order in the months prior, without their knowledge.
Rose stands accused of two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a weapon and three counts of assault causing bodily harm.
Rose is due back in court on Dec. 17, for the results of a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand trial.
