U.S. and Chinese tariffs, combined with a sluggish economy, have turned what was a driver shortage into a job shortage in Manitoba’s billion-dollar trucking industry. The province says exports to the U.S. dropped 6.2 per cent in the first half of 2025, while exports to China dropped 32 per cent.
