A 21-year-old man has been charged in relation to an alleged extortion-related shooting at a Surrey mansion last month.
On Monday, the Surrey Police Service reported 21-year-old Avtar Singh had been charged with one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm.
SPS spokesperson Sgt. Tige Pollock said the charge was related to a shooting at a residence on the 17000-block of 32 Ave. on Nov. 12, 2025.
The shooting occurred four days after another shooting at the same residence.

Pollock said the B.C. Extortion Task Force was in charge of the investigation.
“This investigation series involved one primary victim and several incidents related to them,” he said.
Singh was arrested on Dec. 5 and is in custody pending a Dec. 10 court appearance.
“While a charge has been laid against one suspect, the investigation remains active and continuing,” Pollock said.
Shortly after the Nov. 12 shooting, Postmedia News reported the large high-end home was owned by prominent Surrey businessman Sandeep Ahuja. No one was hurt in the shootings.
Ahuja is the co-owner of Punjab Insurance Agency. In a profile in a South Asian business magazine, the entrepreneur and father of three is described as a hardworking, ambitious businessman who took a risk of starting his own insurance company after working in the industry for only two years.
