Transport Canada is warning that parts could fall off some 21,000 Ford vehicles.
It has issued recalls for Ford Escapes from two model years: 2020 and 2025.
“On certain vehicles, the hinge covers for the liftgate may not have been properly attached. As a result, the cover(s) could loosen and detach from the vehicle,” Transport Canada cautioned in a recently published notice.
“Parts that detach from the vehicle could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.”

There are 20,521 affected Ford Escapes in Canada, per Transport Canada. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their SUV to a dealership for an inspection.
The liftgate hinge covers will be secured or replaced as required.
Lincoln MKT models recalled
The second recall involves the 2016 and 2019 Lincoln MKT models.
“The exterior B-pillar trims on the driver and front passenger doors may not be properly attached. As a result, the trim(s) could loosen and separate from the vehicle,” Transport Canada said, per insauga.com.
“Trim that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.”

There are 501 vehicles in Canada impacted by that recall, said Transport Canada.
Ford will likewise be notifying owners by mail and advising them to take their SUV to a dealership to have the exterior B-pillar trims secured.
There are 21,022 vehicles impacted by the two recalls.
More than 32,800 vehicles recalled
Transport Canada recently said that it has recalled more than 32,800 vehicles — Ford SUVs and Dodge Ram pickups — after identifying faulty parts that could increase the risk of a crash.
Last Thursday, the agency said more than 23,000 Ford vehicles were recalled, including Ford Explorers from 2016 and 2017. Included among those subject to the recall are those specifically built for police, the notice said.

On the affected vehicles, exterior trims on the driver and front passenger doors “may not be properly attached,” meaning it could loosen and fall off the vehicle.
The agency said that could pose a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
Transport Canada’s other recall affects more than 9,800 Ram vehicles, the agency said in a notice last Wednesday, citing a software problem that could prevent the instrument panel cluster screen from displaying while starting or driving the vehicle. That would mean that certain information such as gear selection and warnings might not be visible, which the agency said could increase the risk of a crash.
Included in the recall were the Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Ram 4500 and Ram 550 vehicles from 2025 or 2026.
The recall only concerns vehicles with an instrument panel cluster, the notice said.
