Two people died and another was seriously injured after a vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle in Quebec's Laurentians region.
The fatal incident took place at around 11 a.m. on Sunday near Lachute.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), a vehicle travelling eastbound on Route 158 veered off course for reasons still unknown before colliding head-on with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, killing both of its occupants — two people in their 70s.

Their deaths were confirmed at the hospital, the SQ told Radio-Canada.
The driver whose vehicle left her lane suffered serious injuries, but her life is not in danger.
A third vehicle was unable to brake in time and swerved, causing minor injuries to its occupants.
On Sunday afternoon, Route 158 was still closed to traffic between Route 329 and the Chemin des Sources, pending investigators' analysis of the scene and clearance of the road.
