Crews Rescue 28 People Left Dangling Upside Down on Amusement Park Ride

Firefighters in Portland, Oregon, said they rescued around 30 people who were left hanging upside down on a ride after it malfunctioned at Oaks Amusement Park on Friday, June 14.Portland Fire & Rescue said that rescue crews worked with engineers at the park to manually lower the AtmosFEAR ride after it stopped while operating in the 360-degree setting, leaving riders dangling in the air for at least 25 minutes.One rider with a pre-existing medical condition was taken to a hospital for further evaluation. All other riders were medically cleared, Oaks Amusement Park said in a statement on Facebook.“At approximately 2:55 this afternoon, the AtmosFEAR ride stopped at the apex position while operating in the 360-degree setting, suspending 28 riders upside down,” the park said.“One rider with pre-existing medical conditions was transported to the hospital for further evaluation, out of an abundance of caution.
