They all suffer from SAD, a most fitting acronym for Seasonal Affective Disorder, a form of depression, triggered by the darker days of winter. It affects around two million people in the UK and symptoms include irritability, anxiety, lethargy, lack of concentration, overeating, social withdrawal and sleep problems.
