The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says it has taken over the case of a Chilliwack, B.C., man who has been out of contact for two weeks.

IHIT said in a Friday statement that they have evidence suggesting Jamie Curtis Bristol, 41, has met with foul play.

The homicide team is responsible for investigating when foul play is suspected in the cases of high-risk missing people, it said.

The statement said Bristol was "last believed to have been contacted" on Dec. 22.

Bristol is described as six feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and tattoos on his scalp, along with a distinctive tattoo of a skull with flames on his neck.

"We're appealing to the public for any information that can help us locate Mr. Bristol," said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti in the statement.

"We're going to continue to work closely with the Chilliwack RCMP and our integrated partners to find Mr. Bristol as soon as possible."

Anyone with more information in the case is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or email them at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
