Durham police are asking the public for help in finding a Pickering woman who hasn’t been seen since the start of the month.

In a news release Tuesday, Durham police said 61-year-old Rosetta was last seen around 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 in the Douglas Avenue and Radom Street area.

"We don't have any information as to the direction of travel that she may have gone,” Const. Nicholas Gluckstein with the Durham Regional Police Service told CBC Toronto Wednesday.

Rosetta is described as white with a medium build and dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black toque, a long black trench coat style winter jacket, black pants, black and white shoes and carrying a light-coloured purse or tote bag.

Durham police did not disclose her medical history, but said she is considered to be “vulnerable.”

Gluckstein said officers have canvassed the area, combed through security camera footage and used drones to try to locate her.

Durham police did not say where she’s known to frequent, but did say they have investigated known locations and spoken with witnesses.

"We have nothing that leads us to believe that she has spoken to somebody or has left the area with somebody particular,” Gluckstein said. “We're not sure whether she might actually still be in the Durham region or whether she has left.”

Durham police said police services in neighbouring municipalities have been notified about her disappearance.

Investigators and her family are very concerned for her wellbeing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham police.
