Is Travis Kelce thinking of hanging up his cleats?

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end certainly got emotional after playing what could have been his last game at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, a 20-13 losing effort against the Denver Broncos.

The game saw Kelce have five catches in the closing minutes for 36 yards while playing alongside quarterback Chris Oladokun.

It’s believed that the four-time All-Pro will announce after the season ends whether he’s retiring or not.

In a post-game interview, Kelce, 36, said there was a “whole lot of emotions” going around.

“You’ve got everybody in the world watching you,” Kelce told the Associated Press. “You get to go out there with the young guys on primetime television. Young guys getting an opportunity to taste what this NFL life is like.”

Is he retiring for sure?

Kelce, who is engaged to singer Taylor Swift, said retirement will be a decision he makes with his “family, friends, the Chiefs organization when the time comes.”

The tight end took time to soak in the crowd and atmosphere when he entered Arrowhead Stadium surrounded by red lights and fog during his signature bow-and-arrow stance.

“You only get a few of those (moments) where you get to stand there and appreciate 60, 70-thousand Chiefs fans cheering for you,” Kelce said. “I always embrace that moment.”

Kelce said he feels the generations of happiness and love that the fans have for him.

“It’s a beautiful thing, man. It’s something I know I’ll cherish forever, whether it’s coming out of the tunnel or just making a big play for them. That’s why we love Arrowhead,” said Kelce.

Earlier this week, Kansas lawmakers approved a proposal to help pay for a stadium for the Chiefs, which is expected to lure the team across the state line from Missouri and the aging Arrowhead.

‘Feels motivated’ to keep playing

In an interview ahead of Thursday’s game, Kelce told Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez that while he “feels motivated” to keep playing, he’s got to “make the right decision” for himself.

“I have to hope that if I come back that the Chiefs are willing to bring me back,” Kelce said. “It’s a two-way street on that.”

“At the same time. At this point in this year, I’m just trying to finish out and give the Chiefs kingdom everything I got, and go out there and give the flair you say I got.”

Over a 13-year career, Kelce has played 97 games, caught 645 passes inside Arrowhead Stadium.
