Rookie goaltender Jacob Fowler will start a second consecutive game when the Canadiens (16-11-3) take on the New York Rangers (15-13-4) on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

Arber Xhekaj returns to the lineup after sitting Thursday. He’ll take Jayden Struble’s spot. Many fans were surprised to see Xhekaj in the press box.

It’s another weekend of back-to-back games for the Canadiens. They return home Sunday to face the Edmonton Oilers. They split last weekend’s games, beating the Leafs in a shootout on Saturday before falling to the Blues on Sunday.
