We must be getting closer to the summer season as another thunderstorm risk appears in southern Ontario this week.

The chance for storms on Tuesday won't be widespread, however, and will be confined to Goderich and areas south. The potential for storms to reach severe criteria will be even more limited, only covering from Windsor to just north of Wallaceburg.

With any severe storm that forms, the main hazards will be heavy rain, hail and gusty winds.

However, the timing of the front and the precipitation differs between models. The uncertainty will make or break the severe thunderstorm potential in the southwest.

If the front speeds up, severe thunderstorm risks may grow. Will the same ingredients for severe weather stateside push into Windsor? It's possible, but it is uncertain.

Beyond, periods of rain will develop Thursday and linger into Friday with colder-than-normal temperatures. Scattered showers are likely this weekend, especially on Sunday, with a brisk wind and cooler-than-seasonal temperatures.

Cool weather is expected early next week, but temperatures should rebound for a couple days mid-week. Heat-seekers will be disappointed to know that there will be no consistent warm weather is through the long weekend.
