2 officers shot, killed while investigating stolen vehicle in Salina, New York

A sheriff's deputy and a police officer were killed after shots were fired as they investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in Salina, New York, officials confirmed. The fallen officers, later identified as Syracuse Police Department Officer Michael Jensen and Lt. Michael Hoosock with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, were among a group of investigators looking into the vehicle that allegedly fled from officers at a traffic stop hours earlier, according to Syracuse Police. Christopher R. Murphy, 33, the alleged suspect, was struck and killed, according to police.
